DKL|EPS $0.54 vs $0.92 est (-41.3%)|Rev $384.8M|Net Income $28.9M

Stock $55.43 (-4.6%)

Significant Miss. Delek Logistics Partners, LP (NYSE: DKL) reported Q2 2026 adjusted earnings of $0.54 per share, missing consensus estimates, despite delivering robust revenue growth. The partnership generated $384.8M in revenue for the quarter, representing a 56.2% increase from the $246.3M recorded in Q2 2025. Net income reached $28.9M for the quarter, while the stock declined 4.6% to $55.43 following the release.

Earnings Quality Concerns. While the top line expanded by more than half year-over-year, the steep shortfall on per-share earnings suggests that operating leverage failed to materialize as expected. Adjusted EBITDA was $143.5M for the quarter, with management noting “we are pleased to report another exceptionally strong quarter for the partnership, with adjusted EBITDA reaching a quarterly record of approximately $144 million.” The disconnect between record EBITDA and disappointing per-share results warrants deeper scrutiny of distribution policy and capital structure.

Gathering Drives Growth. The Gathering and Processing segment led operational performance with $195.1M in revenue, up 65.7% year-over-year. This segment accounted for approximately half of total quarterly revenue and appears to be the primary engine behind the partnership’s impressive topline expansion. For a midstream logistics operator in the oil and gas sector, this concentration in gathering and processing activity reflects increasing throughput volumes, though the earnings miss suggests margin pressure may be offsetting volume gains.

Guidance Trajectory. Management provided forward-looking EBITDA guidance of $520.0M to $560.0M for fiscal 2026, with management stating “Today, DKL reported $144 million in adjusted EBITDA in the second quarter, reaffirming fully EBITDA guidance of $520 to $560 million.” This guidance range appears to reference full-year EBITDA rather than quarterly revenue based on the context, though the communication could have been clearer.

Analyst Skepticism. Wall Street consensus stands at 1 buy, 6 hold, and 5 sell ratings, reflecting considerable caution on the partnership’s prospects. The heavy skew toward hold and sell recommendations suggests analysts harbor concerns about distribution sustainability, leverage levels, or competitive positioning within the Permian and Central U.S. logistics corridors where DKL operates.

What to Watch: The critical issue is whether DKL can convert its strong revenue momentum into improved per-unit economics. Investors should monitor gathering and processing margins closely, distribution coverage ratios, and management’s ability to translate the 65.7% segment growth into sustainable cash generation that justifies the partnership structure.
