Trader Joe’s has confirmed a national release date for its newest large canvas tote bag.
The newest addition to the grocery store’s highly coveted tote bag line will hit stores this week in an all-new style: lavender and pink.
Nakia Rohde, a Trader Joe’s spokesperson, previously confirmed to USA TODAY on March 11 that the “next new bag will be a large canvas bag with lavender handles and a pink logo.” While there was not a set release date at that time, the tote bags are now expected to be available nationwide in Trader Joe’s stores starting Monday, March 23, Rohde said.
“This is a limited-time product, and availability will vary store by store,” Rohde wrote in a March 20 email to USA TODAY. “If customers have questions about any product’s availability, we have friendly Crew Members in every neighborhood store ready to help.”
Trader Joe’s bags have a history of drawing crowds and love from grocery shoppers. The mini pastel canvas tote bags had people lining up at their local Trader Joe’s as if it were Black Friday in 2024 and created the same effect when they rereleased earlier this month.
The pastel mini canvas tote bags, which retail for $2.99, returned in the same colors as last year, including what the company calls delicate pink, baby blue, mint green and lovely lavender. Measuring about 13 inches long, 11 inches tall and 6 inches wide, the mini bags are ideal for “small shopping trips.”
In comparison, the large tote bag is expected to be the same size as other large totes sold by Trader Joe’s, measuring around 20 inches long, 14 inches tall and 6 inches wide. Each large tote costs $3.99, the Democrat & Chronicle, part of the USA TODAY Network, reported. Other large totes sold by Trader Joe’s had navy blue or green handles.
