A string of recent late-night burglaries on Colorado Boulevard in Eagle Rock, has afflicted three local businesses: Cheebo, Loop Espresso Club, and Chateau Lemongrass. Local authorities have launched an investigation and taken the statements from representatives of the impacted businesses.
The incidents have caused significant disruptions and financial loss to the businesses, prompting a call to residents and fellow local businesses to strengthen their security measures and stay alert. Authorities have also made a public appeal for any information that might help nab the culprits.
Law enforcement has increased patrols along Colorado Boulevard in response to these events. A neighborhood watch has also been initiated by concerned citizens. In the first reported incident at Cheebo’s, CCTV footage caught a male suspect forceful broke into the premises and stole from the cash register before escaping. Investigation of this footage for the identification of the suspect is underway.
A similar incident, minutes later at a nearby coffee shop, alarmed the local authorities, causing police to treat both incidents as potentially related.

The town’s security measures have been amplified and efforts to identify the suspect have been redoubled.
The authorities continue the investigation in high gear to prevent further incidents and ensure the safety of the community. George Tripodakis, general manager of Cheebo’s has voiced concerns about the burglar’s apparent knowledge of the business layout, hinting at a premeditated act.
The management has had to reassess their internal safety protocols in fear that this might be an inside job. A determination to fully cooperate with the police and reinforce their security measures has been firmly expressed by the management.
Fears heightened with the likelihood of the same criminal targeting other local businesses as well. Identical patterns in the break-ins suggest a single perpetrator’s involvement. This was highlighted by Michael Nogueira, a local, who pointed out the preference of criminals for rainy conditions and empathized with the small, local businesses affected by these incidents.
The Los Angeles Police Department’s Northeast station leads the case, urging individuals with any relevant information to contact them. The active participation of the community is seen as pivotal in resolving this case.
