The most oversold stocks per their 14-day Relative Strength Index include Disc Medicine Inc (IRON), Amylyx Pharmaceuticals (AMLX), and Humana (HUM). All week – The American Association for Cancer Research Meeting will continue to keep the healthcare sector busy with drug data and presentations. Earnings watch – Notable companies due to report include Lotus Technology (LOT). All day – The Department of Justice’s Third Annual Spring Enforcers Summit will feature remarks by FTC Chair Lina Khan and DOJ antitrust head Jonathan Kanter. All day – The IPO lockup period expires on blocks of shares of Birkenstock (BIRK). The footwear company priced its IPO at $46 per share and traded as high as $55. At the time of publication, Birkenstock was trading hands at $42.66 per share. All day – A total solar eclipse will turn day into night across parts of North America on Monday. Krispy Kreme (DNUT), Southwest Airlines (LUV), and Delta Air Lines (DAL) are some of the companies that have promotions tied to buzz over the eclipse. All day – Inozyme Pharma (INZY) will host a conference call to discuss topline data from its ongoing Phase 1/2 trial of INZ-701 in adults with ABCC6 Deficiency. All day – Intel (INTC) will hold its Intel Vision event in Phoenix, Arizona. This year’s event has the theme “Bringing AI Everywhere.”
Tuesday – April 9
Earnings watch – Notable companies due to report include Neogen (NEOG), PriceSmart (PSMT), and Tilray Brands (TLRY). All day – The Nasdaq will release its latest short interest data report. All day – The three-day Google Cloud Next event will begin. The tech giant will show off its AI-powered assistant Gemini, Generative AI Studio, and AI Platform tools during the event.
Wednesday – April 10
Earnings watch – Notable companies due to report include Delta Air Lines (DAL), Applied Digital (APLD), and Rent the Runway (RENT). All day – Dolby Laboratories (DLB) will be providing a demo to the theater industry of the combined Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos experience at Caesar’s Palace during the CinemaCon 2024 convention. All day – DocuSign (DOCU) will hold its two-day Momentum24 event. CEO Allan Thygesen will be one of the keynote speakers. 8:00 a.m. KKR & Co. (KKR) will hold an investor day event featuring presentations by its business leaders. Shares of KKR have been volatile after similar events in the past. 8:30 a.m. Consumer price index report for March will be released. Headline CPI is forecast to rise 0.3% month-over-month and be up 3.5% year-over-year. Core CPI is expected to be 0.3% higher M/M and up 3.7% Y/Y. 12:45 p.m. Chicago Federal Reserve Bank President Austan Goolsbee will participate in a panel discussion before the Social Finance Institute. 2:00 p.m. The Federal Reserve will release the minutes from the March 19-20 FOMC meeting. Postmarket – Costco (COST) will release its March sales report.
Thursday – April 11
Earnings watch – Notable companies due to report include Constellation Brands (STZ), CarMax (KMX), and Fastenal (FAST). All day – Thyssenkrupp (OTCPK:TYEKF) (OTCPK:TKAMY) is expected to present initial details of planned major restructuring at its steel division. All day – OPEC will publish its monthly oil market report. 8:15 a.m. The European Central Bank will make an interest rate policy announcement. Officials are expected to leave policy on hold, but set the stage for a 25-point cut in key interest rates in June. 8:30 a.m. The Producer Price Index report for March will be released. 8:30 a.m. New York Federal Reserve Bank President John Williams will speak before the Federal Home Loan Bank of New York 2024 Member Symposium. 10:00 a.m. Marvell Technology (MRVL) will hold a special event titled Accelerated Infrastructure for the AI Era.
Friday – April 12
Earnings watch – Notable companies due to report include JPMorgan Chase (JPM), Wells Fargo (WFC), BlackRock (BLK), and Citigroup (C). All day – United States Steel (X) will hold an extraordinary shareholder meeting to vote on the buyout offer from Nippon Steel. 10:00 a.m. The initial reading for the University of Michigan Consumer Sentiment Index for April will be released. 3:30 p.m. San Francisco Federal Reserve Bank President Mary Daly will speak at a fintech conference.
