Overnight in the U.S., all three major indexes advanced gains, with the S&P 500 and Nasdaq Composite closing at their highest levels since August. The Nasdaq Composite ended 1.28% higher at 13,100.98 points, helped by a jump in technology stocks. The benchmark S&P 500 added 0.99% to close at 4,221.02 points, while the blue-chip Dow advanced 0.47% to settle at 33,061.57 points.

Oil prices rose on Friday amid bullish sentiment following the passage of a U.S. debt ceiling bill in Washington, traders look toward an OPEC+ meeting this weekend.
Brent crude futures rose 34 cents, or 0.46% to $74.62 a barrel by 03:02 GMT, while U.S. West Texas Intermediate crude rose 30 cents, or 0.43%, to $70.40.
Gold was set on Friday for its biggest weekly gain in nearly two months, as hopes for a pause in the Federal Reserve’s tightening campaign bolstered bullion’s appeal amid progress on the U.S. debt-ceiling deal.
Spot gold was flat at $1,978.74 per ounce, as of 02:41 GMT. U.S. gold futures were also little changed, at $1,996.20.
Spot silver rose 0.1% to $23.926 per ounce and was up 2.7% for the week.
Platinum fell 0.2% to $1,004.32, while palladium held steady at $1,393.94.
