What You Need To Start Registration
Here is a summary of all the information that makes up your Buyer Profile:
Business Name: The name of your business (you won’t be able to change this later!)
Business Address: The address you have listed on your business’s tax documents. PO Box addresses will not be accepted.
Employer Identification Number (EIN): This is an identification number issued by the federal government to a business. Your EIN is not the same as your reseller tax ID.
Reseller Tax ID*: This is issued by the state government to authorize the collection of tax at the time of sale to an end consumer/customer.
Ship-To Address: The location where you will be receiving orders. You may enter additional addresses if you have multiple ship-to locations.
Commercial vs Residential: You will also be asked if your address is zoned for commercial or residential and if you are able to unload trucks at this location. This is important for future order deliveries. Check your city’s government website for local zoning maps.
Contact Details: Your phone/mobile number for receiving shipping updates, payment notifications, and inventory alerts (per your notification settings).
Import/Export Documents (if applicable): If you are interested in cross-border shopping, you must provide freight forwarder information.
Responsible Recycling Documents (if applicable): If your business is R2-certified, you have the option to add in your documentation. Certain mobile sellers require this to shop on their storefront.
Reseller Tax ID/ Resale Certificate
This is the most important document you will be required to submit, as it allows you to buy wholesale goods tax-free. (It’s then your responsibility to collect this when you resell to customers.) Resale certificates are state-specific; depending on where you ship inventory to can make a difference.
*A reseller tax ID can be called a variety of different names depending on the country, state, or province your business is registered in. Other names you might know this by: business tax ID number, seller permit number, sales tax certificate number, or sales tax ID number.
Pro Tip: The #1 reason profile approvals get delayed is an invalid resale certificate. Double-check that yours is up-to-date!
