The Weekly Notable Startup Funding Report takes us on a trip across various ecosystems in the US, highlighting some of the notable funding activity in the various markets that we track. The notable startup funding rounds for the week ending 4/12/25 featuring funding details for Rain, Artisan AI, AppWork, and fifteen other deals representing $825M in new funding that you need to know about.

8Flow – $10.0M

Palo Alto-based 8Flow provides AI-driven workflow automation to streamline enterprise processes efficiently. Founded by Boaz Hecht, Josh Russ, and Yev Goldin in 2022, 8Flow has now raised a total of $16.6M in total equity funding and is backed by Caffeinated Capital, FirsthandVC, Hanover Technology Investment Management, Liquid 2 Ventures, Okta, and ServiceNow Ventures.

Alinea – $10.4M

New York-based Alinea is an investing app that helps users build and manage stock portfolios. Founded by Anam Lakhani, Eve Halimi, and Nikhil Agrawal in 2020, Alinea has now raised a total of $16.1M in total equity funding and is backed by Arash Ferdowsi, f7 Ventures, FoundersX Ventures, Gaingels, GFR Fund, Play Ventures, Swizzle Ventures, Visible Ventures, and Y Combinator.

Anecdotes – $30.0M

Palo Alto-based Anecdotes is a data-powered, AI-enhanced GRC platform that automates compliance and scales enterprise GRC programs. Founded by Eitan Adler, Roi Amior, and Yair Kuznitsov in 2020, Anecdotes has now raised a total of $85.0M in total equity funding and is backed by DTCP, Glilot Capital Partners, Red Dot Capital Partners, and Vertex Ventures.

AppWork – $13.0M

Ramsey-based AppWork specializes in maintenance operations platforms for the multifamily property management industry. Founded by Sean Landsberg in 2021, AppWork has now raised a total of $13.0M in total equity funding and is backed by Resolve Growth Partners.

Arena – $30.0M

New York-based Arena accelerates testing, debugging, and optimization for the world’s most advanced hardware. Founded by Engin Ural, Pratap Ranade, and Rob Speare in 2019, Arena has now raised a total of $62.0M in total equity funding and is backed by Fifth Down Capital, Founders Fund, Friends & Family Capital, Garuda Ventures, Goldcrest Capital, Initialized Capital, Michael Seibel, Qasar Younis, and Shield Capital.

Artisan AI – $25.0M

San Francisco-based Artisan AI is a software development company that develops AI-powered employees to automate workflows across various business functions. Founded by Jaspar Carmichael-Jack and Sam Stallings in 2023, Artisan AI has now raised a total of $46.1M in total equity funding and is backed by Day One Ventures, Fellows Fund, Glade Brook Capital Partners, HubSpot Ventures, Sequoia Scout, Soma Capital, TriplePoint Capital, and Y Combinator.

Austin-based Base Power is a modern energy provider that specializes in residential backup battery systems and electricity plans. Founded by Zachary Dell in 2023, Base Power has now raised a total of $268.0M in total equity funding and is backed by Addition, Altimeter Capital, Andreessen Horowitz, Jackson Moses, Lightspeed Venture Partners, Terrain, Thrive Capital, Trust Ventures, and Valor Equity Partners.

BRINC Drones – $75.0M

Seattle-based BRINC Drones develops technology that enhances public safety, focusing on hardware, software, and services for emergency responders. Founded by Blake Resnick in 2017, BRINC Drones has now raised a total of $157.2M in total equity funding and is backed by Dylan Field, Index Ventures, Mike Volpi, and Motorola Solutions.

CalypsoAI – $5.0M

Washington-based CalypsoAI specializes in cybersecurity for AI systems, providing tools to enhance the safety, reliability, and security of AI applications. Founded by Davey Gibian, Neil Serebryany, and Victor Ardulov in 2018, CalypsoAI has now raised a total of $43.2M in total equity funding and is backed by Crosspoint Capital Partners.

incident.io – $62.0M

New York-based Incident.io provides incident management software that helps teams detect, manage, and resolve issues through Slack and Teams. Founded by Christopher Evans, Pete Hamilton, and Stephen Whitworth in 2021, incident.io has now raised a total of $96.2M in total equity funding and is backed by Index Ventures, Insight Partners, and Point Nine.

nEYE Systems – $58.0M

Berkeley-based NEYE Systems is a technology company that offers silicon photonic MEMS switches. Founded by Tae Joon Seok and Xiaosheng Zhang in 2020, nEYE Systems has now raised a total of $72.5M in total equity funding and is backed by CapitalG, M12 – Microsoft’s Venture Fund, Micron Ventures, NVIDIA, and Socratic Partners.

Nuro – $106.0M

Mountain View-based Nuro is a robotics company specializing in the development of autonomous driving technologies. Founded by Dave Ferguson and Jiajun Zhu in 2016, Nuro has now raised a total of $2.2B in total equity funding and is backed by Fidelity, Greylock, T. Rowe Price, Tiger Global Management, and XN.

Portnox – $37.5M

Austin-based Portnox is a market leader for network access control and management solutions that scale from small to medium enterprises. Founded by Guy Fighel, Idan Kuperman, and Ofer Amitai in 2007, Portnox has now raised a total of $59.5M in total equity funding and is backed by Elsewhere Partners and Updata Partners.

Rain – $75.0M

Nashville-based Rain offers early wage access and financial wellness benefit for mid-market to enterprise employers. Founded by Alex Bradford and Jennifer Terrell in 2019, Rain has now raised a total of $153.6M in total equity funding and is backed by Invus Opportunities, Nextalia, Prosus Ventures, QED, and Spark Growth Ventures.

Starday Foods – $8.0M

New City-based Starday Foods is a healthy and sustainable food products company. Founded by Caroline McCarthy and Chaz Flexman in 2020, Starday Foods has now raised a total of $12.0M in total equity funding and is backed by Equal Ventures and Slow Ventures.

Tessell – $60.0M

San Ramon-based Tessell is a DBaaS platform that simplifies managing, securing, and scaling relational databases in the cloud. Founded by Bakul Banthia and Kamal Khanuja in 2021, Tessell has now raised a total of $94.0M in total equity funding and is backed by B37 Ventures, Lightspeed Venture Partners, Rocketship.vc, and WestBridge Capital.

Tracera – $12.0M

New York-based Tracera is a AI-powered data infrastructure platform. Founded by Patrick Obeid in 2022, Tracera has now raised a total of $17.3M in total equity funding and is backed by Contour Venture Partners, Foundry Group, Rho Capital Partners, and Tola Capital.
