We Let AI Pick Stocks — It’s Up 111%+ Since: Here’s Its Rationale
Share on FacebookShare on TwitterShare on LInkedIn

If you have been following our regular updates, you’d know that our AI-powered stock picker has already more than doubled the money of those following it since launch in November 2023, delivering an explosive 111.04% real-world return as of this writing.

That’s an astonishing 72.25% outperformance over the during the same period.

But even despite the eye-popping results, asking investors to blindly follow the AI’s picks still seems like a dangerous game to play for many.

That’s exactly why we’ve introduced the latest upgrade to InvestingPro’s ProPicks AI, which delivers full transparency into the logic behind every stock selection.

You can now see, in real time, the key metrics that drove each pick, how they ranked in importance, and what triggered a stock’s inclusion, exclusion, or reweighting.

And if you’re ready to act on those insights, there’s good news:

As part of our Summer Sale, you can now get full access to ProPicks AI’s latest stock picks and rationales at just under $7 a month, using this link.

*Already an InvestingPro member? Then, jump straight to the current list of picks and explore the rationale behind each pick.

Also, check out the video below with a full in-depth explanation of the ProPicks AI Rationale upgrade:

So, What Is ProPicks AI and How Does It Work?

ProPicks AI is Investing.com’s proprietary stock selection system designed to outperform benchmarks using machine learning and financial modeling. Each month, ProPicks re-runs the full model and refreshes strategies with a fresh list of fundamentally sound stocks with breakout potential.

What sets it apart is that it doesn’t rely on static rules or filters. Instead, it processes over 150 market-based and financial variables, including:

Forward EPS growth
Free cash flow yield
ROE and ROIC
Analyst revisions
Sector-relative valuation
Sentiment signals
Macro backdrop

All this is trained on 15+ years of global data, and updated monthly to keep up with changing market conditions.

The result is a dynamic, data-driven list of stocks with a statistical edge.

But while the model showcases great results so far, investors still had one question on their minds:

How Does It Decide What to Pick?

With the ProPicks AI Rationale upgrade, you now get clear, ranked explanations behind every stock that enters or exits a strategy.

At its core, the new rationale feature sheds light on the most important questions every serious investor asks:

What specific data did the model analyze?
Which factors carried the most weight in the decision?
How did the stock perform relative to its peers across key metrics?
Were there shifts in sentiment or fundamentals that led to its inclusion or removal?

To answer these, the AI sifts through key financial and market-based variables, ranging from forward earnings growth and margin trends to relative valuation and analyst revisions.

Each input is assessed for its statistical significance, prioritized accordingly, and distilled into a concise, human-readable explanation.

For instance, if a company was added because of improving free cash flow yield, rising EPS growth, and a valuation below its 5-year average P/E, the rationale will lay out each factor clearly and in order of impact.

Likewise, if a stock is dropped due to declining return on equity or a cut in earnings guidance, that reasoning will be just as transparent.

Crucially, the system links those changes to real-world events. A margin spike might stem from falling input costs, while weaker revenue forecasts could reflect management commentary from a recent earnings call.

Over time, regularly reviewing these rationale summaries allows investors to spot patterns, recognize high-impact metrics, and understand how professionals weigh data to make strategic moves in changing market conditions.

Below is an example of how the rationale is displayed on the platform. Dollar General (NYSE:) was added to the Top-Value Stocks strategy at the beginning of June and went on to deliver 17.7% gains for the month.

Here’s what the rationale showed when the stock made the list for June:

However, the stock was removed from the list as part of the July rebalancing update, with the following rationale:

Remember, a stock’s removal from a strategy isn’t necessarily a sell signal.

Rather, it implies the AI decided that, based on the factors described in the Rationale part, these specific stocks picked for July were the best fit for that particular strategy for that particular month.

Bottom Line

Whether you’re a hands-on trader or a long-term investor, learning to interpret the “why” behind every pick is a skill that compounds. ProPicks AI now makes that process easier, more transparent, and more insightful than ever.

For investors who want to go beyond headlines and develop real conviction, this is an opportunity to deepen their understanding of what drives stock performance and sharpen their decision-making in the process at the same time.

And for up to 50% off amid the summer sale, you can unlock access to ProPicks AI’s list of potential winners before a fresh list of potential winners drops on the 1st of July.
