In a September 23 blog post, the G-shock NFT team confirmed that they have partnered with the Sandbox to launch a city in the metaverse. G-Shock is a luxury brand of exceptionally tough and durable watches created by Casio, a global electronics manufacturing company headquartered in Tokyo, Japan. The G-shock watches are known in the market for their robust design, versatility, and cutting-edge features like Tough Solar and smartphone connectivity.

On the other hand, the Sandbox is a renowned blockchain-based metaverse platform that lets users create, own, and monetize their gaming experiences and digital assets. The Sandbox and Casio announced their partnership to launch the virtual G-Shock non-fungible token avatars collection in the Sandbox Metaverse last month. Under this collaboration, the Casio NFT team anticipated leveraging the Sandbox NFT capability to create the G-Shock Droid series in the metaverse. The Sandbox and G-SHOCK will launch their highly anticipated robot-inspired avatar collection in The Sandbox on September 24, 2025.
The highly anticipated “G-shock and the sandbox” NFT collection will feature drawings from five of the brand’s most iconic styles, including DW-5600, DW-6900, GA-110, GA-2100, and the oversized GA-V01. Each NFT avatar series will feature a unique look and offer gameplay enhancements exclusive to The Sandbox NFT ecosystem. This NFT collection will give users access to the metaverse city.
