Verizon (NYSE:VZ) and Netflix (NASDAQ:NFLX) are making another play for new subscribers by bringing back a joint promotion offering a year’s free Netflix service for the telecom’s customers.
That’s among updates Verizon is making to its “Plus Play” subscription hub, launched to help its customers manage a wide array of content services.
The limited-time promotion starts Sunday – and to get the free Netflix (pegged as a $240 value), customers are required to get a new annual subscription to another service on Plus Play from among Paramount+, Calm Premium, Peloton, Super Duolingo, MasterClass, AMC+ or Starz.
Verizon is launching the offer with an ad set for a big audience in Sunday’s Oscars broadcast.
Paramount+ and MasterClass are among 10 new partners Verizon (VZ) announced for Plus Play, also including Blue Apron, FlixLatino, KOCOWA+, Hallmark TV, Marquee TV, Quello Concerts by Stingray, UP Faith and Family and Wondrium. They join subscriptions already offered through the one-stop hub, including Disney+, Hulu, ESPN+, Discovery and AMC+.
Verizon launched Plus Play in December with a similar deal offering a year of Netflix Premium when customers purchased certain other services via the hub.
