The Wells Fargo Autograph® Card is an excellent travel rewards card if you want a high rate on everyday purchases, no annual fee, and a 0% introductory APR offer. While it doesn’t offer premium travel perks, it holds its own as a low-stress, rewarding card option.

No foreign transaction fee: There are no foreign transaction fees when you use your card to make purchases from foreign merchants, including when you’re traveling internationally.

Transfer partners: Increase your redemption flexibility by transferring your points to travel partners, including JetBlue TrueBlue, Air France-KLM Flying Blue, British Airways Executive Club, Virgin Atlantic Flying Club, and Choice Privileges.

Auto rental collision damage waiver: Receive secondary collision coverage on eligible car rentals when you pay with your card.

Travel and emergency assistance services: Receive emergency assistance while traveling anywhere worldwide.

Roadside dispatch: If needed, take advantage of this pay-per-service roadside dispatch benefit.

Emergency cash disbursement: As a Visa credit cardholder, you can receive an emergency cash advance disbursement or card replacement within one to three business days.

Visa Signature Concierge Services: Visa Signature cardholders can use the complimentary 24/7 Visa Signature Concierge service to book travel accommodations, find tickets to sporting and entertainment events, and make dinner reservations.

Visa Signature Luxury Hotel Collection: Access premium perks at Luxury Hotel Collection properties as part of your Visa Signature benefits.

You can earn rewards with your Wells Fargo Autograph Card by making eligible purchases and qualifying for the welcome bonus as a new cardholder.

You typically have a few months to earn the new cardholder bonus, which is often plenty of time if you align your card purchases with everyday spending, such as gas, local transit, and your cell phone bill. However, if you’re worried about meeting the minimum spend requirement, you may want to consider waiting to sign up for the card until you know you have upcoming large purchases, such as booking flights for an upcoming vacation.

While the welcome bonus can quickly boost your rewards, you’ll likely find your everyday expenses earn the most rewards year after year.

If we look at the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics consumer expenditures from 2024, we see American households spending this much on average on these purchases:

Food away from home: $3,945

Gasoline: $2,411

Public and other transportation: $1,131

That’s a total of $7,487 for these purchases alone, which would net you 22,461 points, thanks to the Wells Fargo Autograph 3x multipliers in these categories. Even without accounting for other expenses, such as travel and groceries, that’s over $200 in travel rewards you could earn annually from everyday expenses.

You can redeem your Wells Fargo Rewards points for these options:

Transfers to travel partners: You can transfer your rewards to participating travel rewards programs, such as JetBlue TrueBlue, Air France-KLM Flying Blue, British Airways Executive Club, Virgin Atlantic Flying Club, and Choice Privileges.

Travel: Redeem rewards for flights, hotel stays, and car rentals.

Account credits: Receive an account credit on an eligible Wells Fargo credit card or bank account.

Pay with Rewards: Use your rewards to pay for all or part of eligible purchases at checkout with PayPal.

Past purchases: Cover past, eligible purchases with points.

Gift cards: Redeem points for physical and electronic gift cards.

The Wells Fargo Autograph Card makes sense if:

You want a low-stress travel card: With no annual fee and a high rewards rate, this is an excellent card for most, but not all, of your everyday purchases.

The rewards rate aligns with your everyday expenses: If your spending habits align with the Autograph’s rewards categories, you could be earning plenty of points on purchases you already make.

You want to take advantage of a 0% intro APR offer: It’s not as common for travel rewards cards to have 0% intro APR offers, so this is a nice, additional perk.

You travel internationally: The Wells Fargo Autograph has no foreign transaction fees and runs on the Visa network, making it an exceptional card for international travelers.

The transfer partners align with your travel plans: While not completely necessary, it would be a nice bonus if you already frequently use the rewards programs of any of the available transfer partners.

High rewards rate: The 3x multipliers in various everyday categories beat out many other travel rewards cards that charge annual fees.

No annual fee: There’s no annual membership cost, making it easy to justify signing up for and keeping the Wells Fargo Autograph Card for many years or indefinitely.

No foreign transaction fee: You don’t have to worry about these fees when traveling internationally.

No premium travel perks: As a no-annual-fee card, you won’t find perks like airport lounge access or travel credits.

No intro offer on balance transfers: There’s a 0% intro APR offer on purchases, but none for balance transfers. Many cash-back credit cards tend to have offers on both.

Low base rewards rate: While the bonus categories offer high rates, the base earning potential is low. This is especially apparent if you consider you’ll only earn 1x points on grocery purchases.

You can use the Wells Fargo Autograph Card anywhere Visa cards are accepted, including worldwide. You also don’t have to worry about foreign transaction fees with this card.

Make a Wells Fargo Autograph Card payment:
