France recorded a trade deficit of €14.93B in December of 2022, versus expectation of €12.1B deficit.
This compares to the last month’s figure of -€13.6B.
Imports rose by 1.7% to €65.9B, while exports went down 0.1% month-over-month to €51B.
Considering FY 2022, the trade balance fell by €78.1B to reach its new historic low at -€163.6B.
The figure is a measure of difference in value between imported and exported goods during the reported month, where actual greater than forecast is good for currency.
