Activision Blizzard
released its quarterly results a day early on Wednesday after the U.K.’s competition watchdog blocked its $69 billion sale to
Microsoft
The key financial metrics came in better than expected and indicate the company has gained momentum independent of a sale to Microsoft.
The company said first-quarter net bookings, a form of adjusted revenue watched closely by Wall Street, rose 25% to $1.86 billion, topping analyst expectations of $1.78 billion, according to FactSet. Non-GAAP earnings of 60 cents a share topped expectations of 51 cents a share.
