Münster, Germany-based clockin, a company specialised in making digitalisation and AI accessible for deskless workforces, has secured €10M in growth capital.
The round was led by Newion (Amsterdam) and NRW.Venture (Düsseldorf). Existing investors Scalehouse Capital (Osnabrück) and D11Z. Ventures (Heilbronn) also participated.
Newion is Europe’s early-stage investor in business software. The firm supports founders from the early traction stage through demonstrable product-market fit to international expansion.
“The deskless workforce is a gigantic, previously neglected market. clockin has the potential to become the leading platform in Europe,” says Mathijs de Wit, Managing Partner at Newion.
NRW.Venture is the venture capital fund of NRW.BANK. This is the development bank for North Rhine-Westphalia’s response to the limited financing available for young, innovative, often technology-oriented companies, which often cannot finance themselves through loans.
NRW.Venture invests in startups – typically starting with the second financing round – with up to €15M in equity over several rounds – together with private-sector investors.
The German company will use the funds to accelerate the expansion of the software and AI functions for mobile working teams in European SMEs.
What does clockin solve?
Around 80 per cent of the workforce outside traditional offices, especially in small and medium-sized (SMEs) businesses like skilled trades and healthcare, still relies on manual processes and paperwork.
The German company aims to make work easier by reducing paperwork and administrative tasks.
“We need to bring all employees into the AI age – especially in small businesses. This opens up enormous potential for millions of companies,” says clockin CEO & Co-Founder Frederik Neuhaus, describing the idea behind clockin.

Jonas Tünte (CMO), Daniel-Dominic Schlief (CPO), Fabian Ebbert (CSO), Frederik Neuhaus (CEO), Benedikt Dreier (COO), and Florian Nolte (CTO) founded clockin in 2018, inspired by feedback from several medium-sized companies seeking a digital solution to their time-consuming paperwork.
clockin was founded with the mission of providing small and medium-sized businesses with easy access to digitalisation.
With Clockin, HR processes like time tracking, scheduling, and absence management run smoothly in the background, along with project planning and documentation.
This allows companies and employees to focus on what really matters: customers, projects, and personal growth. Our motto is simple: practical, straightforward, and easy to use.
More than 6,000 companies in Europe already rely on clockin.
The company was backed by programs such as the German Accelerator and Scale-up.NRW, as well as awards such as the NRW Innovation Award.
“We want nothing less than to free companies and people from paperwork. This way, mobile employees will be seamlessly integrated into company processes for the first time and can operate much more efficiently thanks to AI,” says Neuhaus.
