Earn Delta Miles for Uber Rides
Share on FacebookShare on TwitterShare on LInkedIn

Delta Air Lines has partnered with Uber to allow travelers to earn Delta SkyMiles on certain Uber rides and Uber Eats deliveries. The new partnership — which allows anyone to link their Uber and Delta accounts starting April 24, 2025 — replaces Delta’s previous tie-up with Lyft.

With the new setup, Delta SkyMiles members can earn SkyMiles when they spend money with Uber on select rides and orders. That’s different from the old Lyft arrangement, which awarded miles on all rides.

How to earn Delta SkyMiles with Uber

Delta SkyMiles members can earn miles for eligible rides and deliveries across the U.S. after linking their Uber and SkyMiles accounts. All customers can link their accounts starting April 24, 2025. However, customers on the Uber waitlist were able to start linking their accounts as early as April 22, 2025.

Here’s a breakdown of how much members earn:

Airport rides: Earn 1 mile per dollar spent on UberX rides to and from airports.

Premium rides: Earn 2 miles per dollar spent on premium rides, such as Uber Comfort or Uber Black.

Uber Reserve: Earn 3 miles per dollar spent via Uber Reserve, which is a scheduled ride service that allows you to request trips in advance.

Uber Eats orders: Earn 1 mile per dollar spent on restaurant and grocery orders of $40 or more via Uber Eats (the company’s delivery arm).

If you fly Delta and use Uber or Uber Eats, this partnership is a quick way to earn some extra miles, but there are some limitations. Regular UberX rides are ineligible to earn miles (unless the trip starts or ends at an airport). And that $40 minimum for Uber Eats needed to earn the miles might be tough to hit depending on your delivery size.

After linking your Delta and Uber accounts, you’ll be able to earn miles on eligible purchases.

Maximize Delta miles with American Express

The miles you earn through Uber and Delta are stackable. That means that you can also earn Delta miles on those same purchases when you use Delta-branded credit cards, which earn Delta miles for everyday spending.

Delta’s previous arrangement with Lyft allowed SkyMiles members to earn 1 mile per dollar spent on every U.S. ride — not just airport rides. That means if you’re a price-sensitive Uber user, you probably won’t get as much value out of this new partnership.

However, there are still other ways to earn travel rewards with Lyft that can be just as rewarding, if not more. Depending on your travel habits and preferences, it may make more sense to earn points and miles with a Lyft rewards partner than an Uber one, such as Delta.

What else to expect from Delta in 2025 and 2026

Delta unveiled the Uber partnership during its keynote at CES 2025, alongside several other news drops, including:

Delta Concierge: Later this year, Delta will launch an AI-powered digital assistant in the Fly Delta app called Delta Concierge. It’s set to offer personalized travel assistance, such as alerts regarding upcoming passport expiration or visa requirements.

YouTube partnership: Starting this summer, SkyMiles members will be able to access YouTube Premium (ad-free) during their flights.

Improved in-flight entertainment: Beginning in 2026, Delta will roll out a cloud-based in-flight entertainment system featuring 4K HDR QLED screens, which basically just means a better, brighter picture on your seat back screen. The airline will also introduce Bluetooth connectivity and enhanced features like a “Do Not Disturb” mode and announcement translations.
